4th Grade Teacher
“If there is no struggle, there is no progress.” - Frederick Douglass

Marcia Tineo began her career as an assistant teacher at an elementary school in New Canaan, Connecticut. She then accepted an urban teaching fellowship at a high school in Boston, where she taught 9th grade English Language Arts for four years. As a native New Yorker, Ms. Tineo came back home to work at a network charter school, teaching 7th grade History for three years. From there, she got the opportunity to teach 7th and 8th grade ELA and History and serve as a middle school administrator at a charter school in Brooklyn. After attending graduate school full time, Ms. Tineo missed working with younger children and returned to teaching at NCSH. As a native New Yorker, Ms. Tineo loves charter schools and the impact they have had on the community. She is very excited to be part of the NCSH community.
