"There needs to be a lot more emphasis on what a child can do instead of what he cannot do." -Temple Grandin
Lindsey Mattingly has been teaching elementary school for eight years. Originally from Lexington, Kentucky, she earned a Bachelors Degree in Special Education from the University of Kentucky. Ms. Mattingly received a Master's Degree from The University of Louisville in Special Education, with an emphasis in autism spectrum disorders. Although working with children with autism is a particular passion of Ms. Mattingly's, she believes that every child can learn and enjoys challenging the individual child to reach his or her full potential. Ms. Mattingly moved to New York City in 2013, where she continues to share her love of teaching and learning. She is excited to be a part of the NCSH staff; a group of educators that does "whatever it takes" to help scholars achieve academically, socially, and emotionally. Outside of school, Ms. Mattingly can be found reading, exploring the city, taking in a Broadway show, or playing with her adorable Maltipoo, Lucy.
