Krystal Wells

Krystal Wells joins the Neighborhood Charter School of Harlem for the 2017-2018 school year as a sixth grade English Language Arts teacher. Ms. Wells worked most recently at Advance Learning in Garden City, NY, where she spent her time reinforcing lessons presented by teachers one-on-one and in small groups with students. She also enforced school and class rules to help teach students proper behavior. Prior to her arrival at Advance Learning Center, she spent five years as a Division II and Division III collegiate basketball coach.

Ms. Wells helped coach the Adelphi University Women's Basketball team to a Northeast-10 conference championship and advance to the second round of the Division II NCAA tournament. During her time at Adelphi, she played a major role in managing academic support programs for all student-athletes. Academically, all 13 players earned an overall team G.P.A of 3.5 under Krystal's mentorship. Ms. Wells spent one season at Colby College where she led their team to the NESCAC conference Final Four. Previously, she also coached two seasons at Regis College in Weston, Mass. In her time at Regis, Ms. Wells helped the Pride to two New England Collegiate Conference Championships. Regis made two NCAA appearances and had an undefeated record.

Ms. Wells was a four-year Division I player at Long Island University Brooklyn, where she graduated summa cum laude in 2013 with a dual degree in management and marketing. Ms. Wells also earned her M.A. in special education from Regis in 2015.
