Kelly ScottMath Achievement Coach
"Just show up." - November Project
Kelly Scott, Achievement Coach for Math, comes to us from the West Coast. Kelly, a California native, attended Westmont College where she double majored in Sociology and Communication Studies. After graduating, she joined the Peace Corps where she trained other teachers while teaching Middle School and High School English in Ukraine. After over two years in Europe, Kelly returned to the states where she ran an after-school program for 4th-6th grade students in California. Kelly, a lifelong learner, went on to earn a Master's Degree in Non-Profit Management from the New School. Missing her daily interaction with children lead Kelly to enroll in Teach for America, where she served as a TFA Corps Member in both Brownsville and Harlem. After receiving her Master's Degree in Special Education from Hunter College, Kelly continued to teach in Harlem before joining the NCSH family in the fall of 2013 as our Math Coach. When not crunching data and assisting teachers around our rigorous and robust math curriculum, Kelly, an avid runner, yogi, Pilates and food guru can be found unwinding at Harlem Yoga Studio or training for her next marathon in Central Park.
