Kelly ScottAssistant Principal (CH)
"Just show up." - November Project
Kelly Scott, Assistant Principal, comes to us from California. Ms. Scott attended Westmont College where she double majored in Sociology and Communication Studies. After graduating, she joined the Peace Corps and worked in Ukraine, where she trained other teachers while teaching middle and high school English. After over two years in Europe, Ms. Scott returned to the States where she ran an after-school program for fourth through sixth grade students in California. Ms. Scott went on to earn a Master's Degree in Non-Profit Management from the New School. Missing her daily interaction with children, Ms. Scott joined Teach For America, where she served as a corps member in both Brownsville and Harlem. After receiving her master's degree in Special Education from Hunter College, Ms. Scott continued to teach in Harlem before joining the NCSH family in the fall of 2013 as Math Coach, and now, as the Assistant Principal of our Central campus. When not crunching data and assisting teachers around our rigorous and robust curriculum, Ms. Scott, an avid runner, yogi, Pilates and food guru, can be found unwinding at a local yoga studio or training for her next marathon in Central Park.
